The sculpture that has graced the rotunda of the Philbrook Museum is getting a face-lift. Actually, it's more like a whole new body.
The monumental Rodin sculpture of Adam is getting some restoration work. After many years, Adam has started to show signs of corrosion. The work will take about 10 days according to Marianne Marti with Conservation Services Inc., "We're going to remove corrosion products and also reintegrate touching in area where the surface is missing."
Adam has been on display at Philbrook since 1990. That's when it was loaned to the museum by the Kassar Art Foundation in New Jersey.
