TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Nate Murphy had two RBIs and El Paso pitchers allowed only five hits as the Diablos beat Tulsa 8-2 in a Texas League game Monday night.
El Paso never trailed, getting all its runs in two four-run innings. Tulsa rallied in the eighth inning on RBIs by Javier Colina and Tino Sanchez but the Drillers wouldn't score again.
Ozzie Timmons led off scoring for the Diablos with an RBI double in the first inning. Murphy picked up his first RBI after reaching first base on an error by the shortstop and Andy Green scored.
Timmons reached home on a balk, then Brian Barden hit a run-scoring single to give the Diablos a 4-0 lead.
RBIs by Timmons, Murphy and a two-run shot by Corey Myers wrapped up scoring for El Paso in the fourth inning.
Phil Stockman (7-3) allowed one hit and struck out six in six innings for El Paso.
Kip Bouknight fell to 5-6, allowing nine hits and eight runs in 3 2-3 innings for Tulsa.
