Five Tulsans have returned home after 15 weeks in the oil fields of Kuwait and southern Iraq.
They arrived in Tulsa yesterday evening.
The five are employees of the Army Corps of Engineers and volunteered to repair oil wells in Iraq that were sabotaged, looted or neglected.
The group was deployed a month before fighting started and closely followed the combat as coalition forces took control of oil fields in southern Iraq.
The group was able to begin pumping the first barrels of oil on April 23rd, well ahead of expectations.
Corps employee John Forslund says there is still a lot of work to be done at the oil fields, but more was accomplished in less time than anyone expected.
