Some Broken Arrow students will soon be learning their lessons in a new building. The district has broken ground on a new elementary school at 44th and 209th East Avenue.

The new school was approved by 74% of the voters in the last school bond election. Broken Arrow School Superintendent Jim Sisney: "We're faced with growth as well as upkeep of existing facilities. We have many elementarys that have temporary modulars."

The new school, which still doesn't have a name, will replace the Southside Elementary. It's expected to be completed by the fall of 2004.
