The American Red Cross has joined forces with State Farm Insurance to make Tulsa neighborhoods a little safer.
They’re launching the Safe Neighbor Network program. It's designed to educate and motivate folks to take steps to protect themselves, their homes and their neighborhoods from natural and man-made hazards.
Bob Roberts with American Red Cross, "It's designed as a grass roots program, for a neighborhood to take control of their own safety measures.â€
Mary Watts, Tulsa homeowner, "We would be having neighborhood meetings and coming up with a hazard assessment for our neighborhood and getting folks together to discuss how hazards that affect our neighborhood and how to plan for these."
Tulsa, along with New Orleans, Indianapolis and Evansville, Indiana are the first four pilot cities for the Safe Neighbor Program.
