Tulsa's exploitation unit is investigating two horrifying cases of elderly abuse. In one case, the man was neglected so badly, he lost both his feet and was covered in maggots. He is now recovering.

Tulsa Police Detectives say the other case happened inside at a home at 537 East 40th Street North. They say 83-year-old Margarite Johnson was severely neglected also, that she was basically left sitting in one chair for days on end. Her body was covered in ulcers.

She died earlier this week and her son, Louis Johnson [pictured] was arrested for caretaker abuse and neglect. Neighbors had called DHS after they become worried about her condition.

Detectives say Johnson was receiving several thousands of dollars a year in state money to care for his mother.
