People across Oklahoma continue to show support for troops overseas. More than a hundred people gathered Sunday in Claremore for a countywide effort to support the troops.
Debbie Walker's son 18 year old Lance Corporal Daniel Johnson is a Marine now in Iraq. Walker says her son was involved in the rescue of POW Jessica Lynch. She didn't even know if her son was safe until an early morning phone call last week. "He said, 'Mom, do you know who this is?' And I said, 'Daniel?' he said, 'Yea!" and I got all excited. It was a miracle. I needed to hear his voice, the tones in his voice and I needed to hear that he was truly okay."
Walker says events like this one are important not just to the troops but also to their families. She says her son's unit is supposed to come home soon, but she's not sure exactly when.
