The Tulsa School board has rejected another charter school application. Organizers of the Tulsa Juvenile Bureau Academy hoped to serve students who were suspended from their home schools and even alternative programs. But the juvenile justice charter school is on hold.
The board says the charter application is incomplete. Organizers aren't giving up. Paul McCurtain, Juvenile Center Education coordinator, "when they're not in school uh, not only are they not getting an education, but they're getting themselves in matters that's going to end up n this courtroom maybe."
Organizers of the juvenile justice charter school have 30 days to re-apply. Tulsa Public Schools currently has three charter schools.
