(Dewey-AP) -- School board members in Dewey have OK'd a basketball coach's request to rescind his resignation.

Dustin McCormick was charged April 4th with sexual misconduct involving a 16-year-old female student.

McCormack's resignation withdrawal comes as a petition showing support for the coach makes its way through the community.

Assistant Superintendent Gerald Roberts had previously said McCormack's coaching responsibilities were terminated based on his professional conduct while performing coaching duties.

A due-process hearing for McCormack is scheduled in May.
