(Sapulpa-AP) -- Congressman Frank Lucas traveled six hours and hundreds of miles to meet the public he represents.

And he still hadn't reached the end of his district.

The Oklahoma Republican had the energy after his long drive to beam at the 25 people who came to see him at a Sapulpa town hall meeting Monday night.

Lucas now represents nearly half the map of Oklahoma.

The state's population didn't keep up with the rest of the country and it lost a congressional seat. Last year's redistricting left Lucas with a vast territory that spans nearly 34,000 square miles.

Lucas held meetings in Drumright, Mannford and Bristow Tuesday.

He plans to visit nine more towns Tuesday and Wednesday before starting the long drive back home to Cheyenne.
