(Guymon-AP) -- Searchers have nearly given up hope of finding a disabled 17-year-old boy alive two weeks after he wandered off in rural Cimarron County.

Dustin Roy McKee of Mannford has been missing in the Panhandle since March 18. He disappeared after going for help after he and his mother, Toni McKee, became stranded when their car got stuck in the sand while sightseeing in the Kenton area.

Toni McKee stayed with the car and attempted to dig it out. When her son hadn't returned by the next day, she began walking for to find help.

Officials say they've found no trace of the boy.

A childhood stroke left the boy with a paralyzed left arm. He also has the mental capacity of a 10 to 12 year old.

Cadaver dogs have been added to the search, but haven't picked up a scent.
