(Norman-AP) -- The last of three restaurants owned by former Dallas Cowboys and University of Oklahoma football coach Barry Switzer has closed.
Barry's Chicken Ranch off Interstate 35 in Norman shut its doors for good last week.
The closure crumbled Switzer's dream of opening a chain of eight to ten fried-chicken restaurants.
The 65-year-old Switzer says he's too old to be in the restaurant business.
Switzer began the short-lived chain in September 1999 by opening the Norman restaurant. Restaurants in Oklahoma City and Lawton soon followed.
Switzer -- who won a Super Bowl and three national championships -- still co-owns The Coach, a charter bus company he co-founded in early 2002.
He also has ownership in the building that houses Pearl's Lakeside restaurant on Lake Hefner in Oklahoma City.
