(Oklahoma City-AP) -- The state House of Representatives Thursday passed a resolution calling for a statewide vote on whether to prohibit smoking in indoor workplaces.
The measure by Republican Representative Ray Vaughn of Edmond was approved by a vote of 59-to-37 and without debate.
A provision calling for a special election on the question failed to get the two-thirds majority needed. The issue would not go to voters until the November 2004 general election.
