(Ada-AP) -- Congressman Brad Carson says a new study is needed before a deal is approved to sell water from the Arbuckle Simpson-Aquifer to Canadian County cities.
Carson spoke Sunday at a meeting in Ada attended by about 200 people.
Most are against the proposed sale.
Carson says a complete study is desperately needed. He says such a study will probably take five or six years and cost $5-million.
An Oklahoma City company wants to pump as much as 20-million gallons of water a day from the aquifer to a group of communities that now receive water from Oklahoma City.
