(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Legislation to tax the sale of items on the Internet could be considered by the Oklahoma Legislature.
The Oklahoma Tax Commission has been working with similar agencies in other states on an Internet sales tax program. The system would allow each state to collect sales taxes based on where a person who makes a purchase on the Internet lives.
The Tax Commission has briefed the House Revenue and Taxation Committee on the bill. Committee Chairman Representative Clay Pope says he has a shell bill for legislation like this.
