Martin Luther King’s dream of a world at peace lives on with Tulsa high school students.
They remembered the civil rights leader through his own words Friday. " I have a dream that one day this nations will rise up and live out the meaning of its creed."
Troy Flewellen was the winner of this year's oratorical contest and won $200 for his efforts. Troy is a student at Booker T Washington High School and says he works hard to keep Dr King’s dream alive. "I look at my friends and say I picked these friends 'cause I want to not because they're a certain color. It was all because of a dream and well I'm glad that dream was able to come true."
King Holiday activities continue all weekend with a parade Monday through north Tulsa.
