Area school boards are showing support for an education rally at the state capitol next month.
Educators are hoping a huge crowd will help bring them relief from state budget cuts. To boost teacher turnout, some districts are canceling classes on February 12th including Glenpool, Sand Springs and most recently Sapulpa. Other schools considering canceling classes are Broken Arrow, Owasso and Tulsa Public Schools.
Jenks teachers will take the day for professional development. Classes won't be in session and teachers will participate in professional development activities on the bus ride to the state capitol in Oklahoma City.
