Some area Marine Reserves are answering the call to duty. Lance Corporal Chris Brooks is a Marine who's ready to serve his country.
But he's not just a Marine; he's also a father to one year old Madison and Austin who was born just two weeks ago. And even for tough guys, it's difficult leaving their loved ones behind.
Chris’ wife Stephanie Brooks, "He's going to miss his little boy growing up, for the first year, and his little girl. He'll be gone for a long time." Chris Brooks, "It's going to be sad, but the quicker I go, the quicker I'll get back."
25 more members of the Broken Arrow based Anti-Tank Training Company are getting ready to leave. Their job is to deploy a missile system aimed at tanks.
The Marines will be a support unit for Operation Enduring Freedom, and could serve up to two years.
