Barry Bonds didn't hit two homers in San Francisco's home opener _ just a game-winning drive in the 10th inning.

Bonds hit a two-run homer, his fifth home run in the first four games of the season, to lead the San Francisco Giants over the San Diego Padres 3-1 Friday.

``I don't like to play extra innings,'' he joked. ``We don't get paid overtime. I want to get out of here.''

Reggie Sanders also homered for the Giants, who have won four straight, including a season-opening series at Los Angeles in which Bonds homered twice in the first two games. Lou Brock, in 1967, is the only player to hit five homers in the first four games.

``Baseball's a long-distance race,'' said Bonds, who previous walkoff homer was Aug. 30, 1999, against Philadelphia. ``I don't really get excited about the first quarter-lap. I get excited about the last lap.''

In other games it was New York 9, Atlanta 3; St. Louis 5, Houston 2; Pittsburgh 2, Chicago 1; Philadelphia 6, Florida 2; Montreal 8, Cincinnati 7; Milwaukee 6, Arizona 2; and Los Angeles 9, Colorado 0.

After Rich Aurilia was hit by Steve Reed (0-1) leading off the 10th, Padres manager Bruce Bochy brought in left-hander Alan Embree to face Bonds. With the crowd on its feet, Bonds connected on an 0-1 pitch.
