The nation's biggest ceramic tile-maker is moving into Muskogee. Dal-Tile, a Dallas-based company, broke ground at the Port of Muskogee this week.
The company will build a $58-million plant there and hire about 400 people. They chose Oklahoma for the new plant over Tennessee and Arkansas. Clay Orme with Dal-Tile, "We wanted to be on a port city because we're going to be making porcelain tile. Some of the ingredients may be imported from overseas.â€
The new facility will be about 635,000 square feet and could expand to a million square feet over several years.
