WASHINGTON (AP) _ A New York company is recalling about 1,000 girl's pant-and-shirt sets because decorative buttons on the shirt can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.
Federated Merchandising Group has received no reports of injuries, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday.
The recalled Greendog two-piece set includes a yellow or white ruffled top with flowers embroidered along the bottom and denim capri pants with buttons on the bottom. The capri sets were sold in sizes 12, 18 and 24 months. The sets have style number 8088 printed on the hang tag.
Macy's, Burdines, The Bon Marche, Rich's, Lazarus and Goldsmith's sold the recalled sets between January 2002 and February 2002 for about $26.
Consumers should stop using these sets and return them to the store where purchased for a refund or credit, the safety commission said. For additional information, consumers can contact the company toll-free at 1-877-874-2812 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. EST Monday through Friday.
