All drivers know how accidents or other problems on the road can back up traffic for miles.
But, there's a new plan underway to help Tulsa drivers make their way down busy streets, faster. Fiber-optic cameras and electronic signs will be used to help traffic planners study traffic patterns in the city.
The new technology will cost $1.5-million. It is being paid for with federal funds. The cameras should be installed by 2004.
Transportation officials say they will "not" be used to enforce traffic laws.
