NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ The Women's Basketball Coaches Association has named Oklahoma associate athletic director Marita Hynes as the group's administrator of the year.

The WBCA award is given annually to an administrator who has excelled at encouraging the growth and quality of women's basketball programs and women's athletic programs overall.

As senior women's administrator at OU, Hynes oversaw the NCAA sub-regional basketball tournament in Norman last year and will do the same this weekend.

She oversees volleyball, women's basketball, softball, men's and women's cross country, track, tennis, gymnastics and women's soccer.

She served as project manager for the OU softball complex and has been involved in construction of the soccer complex.

She will be presented her award March 29 in San Antonio.
