It was President's day on Monday and some local students celebrated with a little creativity.
Monday marked the beginning of Cherry Street's third annual Washington's Birthday art contest. Students at Lee Elementary and Marquette School have submitted more than 250 original artworks.
The artwork is on display at various businesses along Cherry Street. This year's theme is George Washington: The First American Hero. This Friday, a special panel of judges will award a Grand Prize to one outstanding entry.
The pictures will remain on display through the end of the month.
