TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Antonio Reed scored 15 points and Greg Harrington had 12 points and 12 assists as Tulsa ended a six-game losing streak to Fresno State by beating the Bulldogs 78-63 Thursday night.
Fresno State, which played without second-leading scorer defender Chris Jeffries, who is out with a knee injury, didn't have the quickness to stay with Tulsa. Center Melvin Ely had 22 points and 12 rebounds for the Bulldogs (14-8, 6-4 Western Athletic Conference).
Dante Swanson had 14 points, Kevin Johnson 12 and Jason Parker 11 for Tulsa (17-4, 8-2).
The Golden Hurricane took the lead for good early in the second half on a 3-pointer by Swanson, the start of a 11-2 run that gave Tulsa a 46-37 advantage. After falling behind 64-49, the Bulldogs battled to within 68-60 with 4:03 left on a drive by Damon Jackson.
Reed then converted a three-point play, Harrington made a reverse layup, then dished the final of his assists to Johnson for a dunk that made it 75-62 with 1:51 to play.
Tulsa, which came in leading the WAC in 3-point and field goal percentage, made just 5-of-16 3-pointers and shot 42 percent from the field in the first half against Fresno State's zone. The Golden Hurricane rebounded to shoot 62.1 percent (18-of-29) in the second half.
