(San Diego-AP) -- It's official. The San Diego Chargers have a new head coach.
The team announced Tuesday that Marty Schottenheimer will become the team's fourth head coach in six seasons.
The Chargers haven't been to the playoffs the last six years. They're 23-and-57 since forcing out Bobby Ross after the 1996 season.
The Washington Redskins will pick up some of the ten (M) million dollars Schottenheimer will be paid over the next four seasons. They fired him this winter after an 8-and-8 campaign.
In San Diego, Schottenheimer replaces Mike Riley, who went 14-and-34 in three seasons.
