STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) _ Louis Dailey's 33-yard field goal in the second quarter and a Hominy interception in the final minute gave the Bucks a 3-0 victory over Velma-Alma in the Class A championship game Saturday.

Hominy (14-1) won its first state title since 1983. Velma-Alma (13-2) was shut out for the first time since 1997 and for the first time in the playoffs since 1991.

After sputtering on offense most of the day, Velma-Alma threatened in the closing minutes.

Starting from their 35-yard line with 2:39 left, the Comets completed a 26-yard pass on first down, gained 14 more on second down and three plays later were at the Hominy 32.

Then Hominy's Brian Choate stopped quarterback John Garrett for a 7-yard loss with 1:03 to play, and defensive back Chris Hipp made the interception one play later. It was his seventh interception of the playoffs and 10th of the season.

Hominy's defense held Velma-Alma to 73 yards rushing; the Comets had run for 776 in the two previous games.
