STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) _ Brandon Scott returned an interception for a touchdown to help Tuttle beat Seminole 16-10 Saturday for the Tigers' first Class 3A football championship.
Tuttle (13-1) trailed 10-6 at halftime, but took the lead for the first time on the first play of the third quarter. Scott intercepted a pass that bounced off a Seminole receiver's hands and returned it 25 yards to give Tuttle at 13-10 lead.
The Tigers made it 16-10 on Scott Bryant's 32-yard field goal with 7:26 left in the third.
Tuttle held Seminole (12-1) to 73 total yards in the second half, but the Chieftains drove to the Tuttle 20 in the closing minutes.
Josh Shandy sacked Seminole quarterback David Knighton for an 11-yard loss. Then on fourth and 17, Knighton's pass fell incomplete as he was rushed by Scott and Josh Dooley.
Seminole running back Chauncey Cravens had 116 yards on 19 carries. He had the Chieftans only touchdown, an 80-yard run in the second quarter.
