SAPULPA, Okla. (AP) _ A Sapulpa church has embarked on a new avenue of ministry for the holiday season _ a dinner theater production.

First Baptist Church will sell tickets to ``Twas the Last Mailing Day Before Christmas,'' a musical comedy about the meaning of the Christmas season. The show is set for Dec. 7-9.

The idea came from a church member who had seen similar productions presented by other churches, said Monty McGee, First Baptist's minister of music.

``Drama has always been a powerful force in communicating ideas and influencing people,'' McGee said. ``Using drama in the church allows us to share the truths of scripture in a compelling and even entertaining way.''

Dinner begins at 7 p.m. in the church's fellowship hall, followed by the production. Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for children ages 12 and younger.
