Millions of Americans are preparing for the busy holiday travel season. In the wake of the terrorist attacks, more people are expected to drive this year, than fly.
AAA says almost 88% of travelers this year will choose to hop in the car than book a flight. Plus, the overall number of people planning a trip is down more than two million from last year. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says it's prepared for more people to be on the roads this year. OHP trooper Lt. Leo Bray: "During the holiday season we look for an increase. And one of the things we do is we plan on it. And by planning on it we put more manpower out."
The OHP says drivers need to remember safety first so remember to buckle up and drive carefully.
