An arrest is made in a series of smash and grab burglaries in East Tulsa. But the arrest didn't come until after a couple of more businesses were hit.

Tulsa Police were called to a strip mall right at Highway 169 and 31st Street around 7:30 PM Thursday. An employee of the Wonder Bread store was working in the back when he heard and saw a man smash the glass door and enter the store. When he couldn't get the cash register open, the suspect left, and hit the Hilti store next door. That's when the witness called police.

Tulsa Police Sgt Cathy Reynolds: "The witness provided us with a suspect description, about 15-to-20 minutes later other officers located him. He was about 4 blocks away from where we located the burglaries this evening. It’s the same area that has been hit in the last three nights and certainly we can't be assured yet, and we are continuing the investigation."

28-year-old Jonathan Mintor was taken into custody. He was booked into the Tulsa jail on at least 8 burglary complaints. Police say at least 14-stores had glass smashed and cash registers broken into over the past three nights.
