If you spend much time online, you've probably received an e-mail rumor or warning. They are rampant right now yet many are false.

The latest one showing up in internet mailboxes warns about a deadly virus. News on Six consumer reporter Diane White clears up the confusion. Some e-mail is playing on the fears of citizens. It's actually an old e-mail that first hit the intert a few years ago, and has resurfaced since the Attack on America.

The letter is warning people to watch out for a blue envelope from the Klingerman Foundation. It claims that inside is a blue sponge containing the Klingerman Virus - an unkown strain that is making people sick - even causing death. It is not true.

The federal government and health officials say there's no such thing as the Klingerman Virus and the e-mail is a hoax. It first surfaced a few years ago but resurfaced after the Attack on America. Some versions even claim the warning is from the military.

There are several reputable websites devoted to clearing up internet rumors - most have sections that handle topics connected to the Attack on America - because there have been so many.
