(Undated-AP) -- Officials at Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are increasing security for Saturday's games. The added security measures are being implemented as a result of the September 11th terrorist attacks on the East Coast.
Third-ranked Oklahoma plays host to Number 11 Kansas State. The Sooners already prohibit coolers, ice chests, cans, bottles, containers of any type and noisemakers. In addition, all bags, backpacks, fanny packs and large purses will be prohibited in the stadium.
Anyone requiring such items for emergency reasons may be admitted only through Gate 15 on the west side of the stadium, Gate 19 on the north side or Gate 44 on the east side. All such bags will be searched.
Anyone leaving the stadium will be readmitted only through gates 15, 19 and 44, and must show a checkout pass and ticket stub for re-entry.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys will play Northwestern State of Louisiana at Lewis Field.
OSU officials say ice chests, book bags, umbrellas and other large items will not be allowed in the stadium. All persons and items entering the stadium are subject to search.
The Athletics Center, including Gallagher-Iba Arena, will be open only to those with proper credentials.
