(Norman-AP) -- If nothing else, Number Three Oklahoma should be well rested for the start of Big 12 Conference play.
The Sooners have played three games this season. But OU's last game was September Eighth, 37-to-10 win over North Texas. Oklahoma will have been off three weeks by the time the 12th-ranked Kansas State Wildcats visit on September 29th.
Coach Bob Stoops says his team has had plenty of practices, which he says should help them correct mistakes. Stoops doesn't think the long layoff will hurt his team.
OU was to play Tulsa last Saturday, before having an open date this weekend. But the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington resulted in all Division One football games that were scheduled for that date to be postponed or canceled.
