SAPULPA, Okla. (AP) _ Creek County prosecutors have charged a Shamrock man with 11 felony counts for allegedly abducting and attacking 12-year-old twin sisters.

A charge of first-degree rape was filed Tuesday against Phillip Daniel Durand, 48, for the alleged attack on one of the girls, authorities said. Two counts each of child abuse, lewd molestation, indecent exposure, kidnapping and forcible sodomy also were filed, records show.

Each child abuse count carries a term of up to life in prison. If convicted on the remaining charges, Durand could face a maximum of 115 years. He is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 2.

The alleged attacks occurred Sept. 9 after the girls knocked on Durand's door to hand out church fliers they had been distributing, said Sgt. John O'Mara of the Creek County Sheriff's Office.

Hours after being reported missing, the girls walked to their home _ about a block away _ about midnight Sept. 9 and told their father they had been raped, O'Mara said.

Prosecutors allege that Durand lured the girls into his residence with the help of costume jewelry. After allegedly ordering them to take off their clothes while he was in the room, Durand allegedly sodomized one of the girls and raped the other, according to court records.

During an interview, O'Mara noticed circular burn marks that the girls said Durand made on them. Durand said he estimated the girls to be 14 even though they had told him they were 12, records show.

A rape examination performed on one child was ``consistent with penetration,'' records show.

Durand is being held in lieu of $220,000 bail in the Creek County Jail.
