PHILADELPHIA (AP) _ Kevin Williams, a safety who played 11 games last season with Miami and the New York Jets, signed a two-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
Williams, who played college ball at Oklahoma State, played in the first nine games last season with the Jets before being released Nov. 7. He made seven starts at free safety, where he registered 14 tackles. He also returned 21 kickoffs for a 26.2 yard average.
In three seasons with the Jets, Williams appeared in 26 regular-season games, starting 13, making 47 tackles and returning 38 kickoffs for a 24.9 yard average. He was the Jets third-round draft choice in 1998.
Also Sunday, the Eagles released cornerback Fred Booker.
