(McAlester-AP) -- Pittsburg County authorities are investigating three suspected drive-by shootings of cattle.
Two of the cattle were killed. The third survived despite a bullet to the head.
Sheriff Jerome ``Snookie'' Amaranto says he's sure the same person shot all three animals.
The cattle were owned by different people.
One cow was found about 65 yards from the road and another was found about 150 yards from the road. The sheriff believes the cattle were shot close to the road, then wandered away before dying.
Amaranto says he's contacted the Southwest Texas Cattle Association, which often helps investigate livestock issues in Oklahoma.
The sheriff also has increased deputy patrols in that area of the county.
The cattle were shot Saturday.
