TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Jason Parker has been named Western Athletic Conference player of the week for his career-best and school-record performance in Tulsa's win over Wichita State, the WAC said Monday.
Parker scored 30 points on a school-record eight 3-pointers as the No. 19 Golden Hurricane beat the Shockers 80-69 Wednesday. He was 8-of-13 from beyond the arc and made all six of his free throw attempts.
The junior also had six rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block as he earned his first conference player of the week award.
``It doesn't surprise anybody involved in our program that he's having success,'' Tulsa coach John Phillips said. ``He's probably our best all-around guard.''
