STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) _ Tony Allen scored 18 points to lead Oklahoma State to a 65-52 win over Hartford Thursday night.
The Cowboys (4-1) blocked 13 shots _ the third-highest total in school history _ and held the Hawks (2-1) to 19.4 percent shooting in the first half.
OSU got 14 points from Melvin Sanders and 11 from Victor Williams.
Williams raised his OSU career point total to 808, 37th on the team's all-time scoring list.
Pierre Johnson led the Hawks with 14 points.
The Cowboys never trailed and led by 18 in the first half after Sanders blocked a shot and then ran the floor to lay up Williams' lob pass to make it 27-9.
OSU led 33-18 at the break and pushed the lead to 22 with 18:41 to play when Sanders hit a three to make it 40-18.
Allen scored 13 in the second half, slashing to the basket for four consecutive OSU scores midway through the period.
The Cowboys were outrebounded by the Hawks (43-39), shot just under 53 percent from the free throw line and were outscored by two in the second half.
