(Oklahoma City-AP) -- An Oklahoma City businessman says he'll offer low cost textbooks to any school in the state that needs them.

David High owns the Textbook Exchange and says he'll make a (m) million textbooks available at five dollars each to school districts. High says the usual price is between 40 and 60 dollars.

High says he felt compelled to make the offer after reading about school districts having to lay off employees. He says buying two books for ten dollars can save enough to cover a day's pay for a school bus driver.

Josh O-Brien of the Midwest City-Del City school district says High's idea is generous but that school funding problems call for a bigger solution.
