The Bartlesville City Council is calling for a sales tax election. It wants voters to renew a half-cent sales tax to develop the city's downtown.
The money could raise more than 2-million dollars. Officials hope once the money comes in, private investors will open attractions downtown. Bartlesville architect, Scott Ambler, "We're trying to get some people downtown, you see a little bit of traffic down here. Our vision is to see this as a really hopping place."
A committee will have a list of specific improvements after the first of the year.
The election is scheduled for February.
