Tulsa Police test out their ‘Amber Plan’ Wednesday morning. The ‘Amber Plan’ is the steps they would use to find a kidnapped child.

News on Six reporter Emory Bryan says the Amber Plan has only been used a couple of times in Tulsa - so Tulsa Police wanted to test it out to make sure it would work in the event of a child abduction.

Wednesday morning - at 17th and Yale – Tulsa Police went through an exercise - pretending a child had been kidnapped. They took down the information - and within a few minutes decided it met the requirements for an ‘Amber Alert’ - within another few minutes - every officer in the city was looking for the suspect - and in less than a hour - the vehicle was found in a west Tulsa neighborhood.

Police hoped to find some ways to improve the ‘Amber Plan’ in case they have to use it again.
