(Oklahoma City-AP) -- The Coast Guard officially called off the search for an Oklahoma State University graduate and three other pilots missing after a warplane accident.

Lieutenant Stephen Nick Benson was flying in an F-A-18 Hornet Friday when he collided with another Hornet in a training exercise off the coast of California.

The Coast Guard called off the search Saturday night.

Benson graduated from O-S-U in 1988.

He was stationed at the Lemoore Naval Air Station near Fresno, California.
