Two Ardmore paramedics and a patient they were helping are dead after a crash in Carter County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the medics were helping a woman whose car had crashed earlier on Interstate 35 Sunday night.

They were putting the woman into an ambulance when a sport utility vehicle lost control on wet pavement and struck all three people.

The driver of the sport utility vehicle was pinned inside the wreckage for about a half-hour. He was treated and released.
