A burglary call ends with a suspect shot and in a Tulsa hospital. It happened around 7:15 Wednesday morning near Highway 97 and 61st Street South in Creek County.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a burglary call at a mobile home sales lot and when they arrived, they saw a suspect running across the street. Deputies arrested the man. Shots were fired as a little later the suspect tired a daring escape.
Creek County Undersheriff Rick Ishmael, "The suspect apparently slipped his handcuffs and tried to run over one of our deputies. That deputy fired two rounds from his service revolver and struck the suspect one time, the suspect then crashed the patrol car."
The suspect was hit in the arm, rearrested and transported to a Tulsa hospital for treatment, his condition is not life threatening.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and Creek County authorities are still investigating the incident.
