A high-speed chase early Thursday took Tulsa Police for a long ride.
The chase began in east Tulsa near 52nd and Lewis, when officers tried to stop a stolen Mercedes. Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers got involved as well. Speeds reached about 90-miles an hour at times.
When the driver got off the highway at Harvard near 51st, he hit a pick-up truck. No one was hurt. The chase went about another mile, before 2 suspects bailed out.
They were both arrested, but one had to be pepper sprayed to get him handcuffed. Tulsa Police officer Sgt Daniel Ford, “he attempted to get through the apartments on us, was taken into custody, he struggled and fought with officers and tried to get free and was finally subdued and taken into custody.â€
As we said the car was stolen. In addition the driver had four outstanding arrest warrants.
