SAN ANTONIO (AP) _ Mark Teixeira of Tulsa hit the longest home run in two years, a 410-foot solo shot over the centerfield fence in a three-run eighth inning, but the San Antonio Missions scored three runs of their own in the bottom of the inning and held on for a 9-6 victory Friday night over the Drillers.
The victory gives the Missions a 3-2 lead in the seven-game Texas League championship series.
Game 6 will be played Saturday night in San Antonio. A seventh game, if necessary, will be played Sunday, also in San Antonio.
The Drillers took an early lead in the first inning when Jason Moore doubled and scored on Justin Laird's single.
But San Antonio took the lead for good in the second inning, scoring four runs on four hits, including Greg Dobbs' two-out, two-run double.
Tulsa got within a run in the eighth on Teixeira's homer and a two-run single by pinch-hitter Taber Maier. In the bottom of the inning, Tulsa rightfielder Roberto Vaz dropped a pop fly that allowed two runs to score.
Craig Anderson took the victory, giving up two runs on eight hits while striking out four and walking one in 6.2 innings. Allan Simpson got the save.
Derrick Van Dusen was the losing pitcher, giving up seven hits and five runs, all earned, in three innings. He struck out two and walked two.
