(Oklahoma City-AP) -- U-S government workers will euthanize 74 Oklahoma elk that are infected with ``mad deer disease.''
The elk belong to Oklahoma County ranchers Don and Clyde Kaspereit.
The father and son will be paid about $360,000 for the elk.
The animals will be the second-to-last infected herd in the country that needs to be euthanized.
The deadly brain disease is in the same category as mad cow disease.
