Tulsa Police investigate a shooting they say was sparked by racism. It happened early Thursday morning in north Tulsa.
Police were called to a home in the 4800 block of North Troost around one o'clock. They found a 20-year old white woman shot one time. Police say the woman was walking with her boyfriend who's black when a group of black males approached them. When they started making racial comments to the woman, things got out of hand.
Tulsa Police Corporal Steve Tuell, “the young man defended the honor of his girlfriend and ended up, the group of males that approached him, starting firing several shots at them.â€
When they turned to run, the white female was shot in the back of the leg. The suspects ran off. They are all described as being between 13-and-15-years-old. No one has been arrested.
