A groundbreaking at the Port of Catoosa Tuesday morning will lead the way for construction of a new energy plant.

Syntroleum Corporation is a Tulsa-based developer of a process that converts natural gas into ultra-clean synthetic fuel. The 36-million dollar complex is being built under the Department of Energy's Ultra-Clean Fuels program. It will produce diesel fuel for use in the Washington DC metropolitan bus fleet and other locations.

The plant is scheduled for completion in mid 2003.
